CILD or Center Inter-Locking Dustcap was designed for easy “in field” recones. If someone is competing in an SPL competition and makes a mistake that costs them a blown woofer, the CILD saves the competitor the time of lining up the dustcap to make sure it is centered on the cone. CILD also reinforces the cone of the subwoofer to help out in high SPL applications.
